The Pakistan women’s national cricket team endured their fourth straight defeat in the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup, after being outclassed by Australia women’s national cricket team by 113 runs.
Batting first in Leeds, Australia posted a commanding 199/7, powered by a brilliant 71-run innings from Ellyse Perry and 39 runs by Georgia Voll. Pakistan bowlers Nashra Sandhu, Rameen Shamim, and Sadia Iqbal picked up two wickets each.
Pakistan’s batting lineup struggled badly in the chase, with only Muneeba Ali showing some resistance with 32 runs. Captain Fatima Sana added 17, but the team was eventually bowled out for just 86 runs.
Australia’s bowling attack was led by Annabel Sutherland and Ellyse Perry, who claimed two wickets each. Pakistan is still searching for its first victory and will face Netherlands women’s national cricket team in its final game of the tournament.
