Team officials confirmed that Babar will not appear in the opening series as he continues recovery from the injury.

According to the management, the medical staff is closely monitoring him, while additional updates about his fitness are expected later.

The first Test between Pakistan and Bangladesh is scheduled to start tomorrow at the Mirpur Cricket Stadium in Dhaka.

The series marks Pakistan’s second assignment in the ICC World Test Championship cycle.

Speaking ahead of the match, captain Shan Masood said the pitch looks favorable for pace bowlers, adding that the team combination will be finalized after a final assessment of the wicket.
