The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has taken a massive step toward modernizing player development by installing the cutting-edge Trueman 3 bowling machine at the National Cricket Academy (NCA). Designed to flawlessly replicate real-game scenarios, this high-tech addition will allow batters to upgrade their preparation using the most advanced training methods available in the sport.
Unlike traditional bowling machines, the Trueman 3 features a high-contrast LED screen on the front that displays realistic bowler animations. This critical visual aid helps batters accurately read the bowler’s run-up, action, release point, and timing. The machine offers complete customization, allowing coaches to perfectly adjust the line, length, speed, swing, and height of every delivery. To simulate high-pressure match situations, players and coaches can even program and save specific individual balls, overs, or entire bowling spells.
Aaqib Javed, PCB’s Director of High Performance, expressed immense pride in the new acquisition, noting that the PCB is the very first cricket board in the world to utilize this state-of-the-art technology. “With traditional machines, it is always difficult for batters to judge the exact release point. The Trueman 3 changes the game by projecting a video of the bowler, bringing practice sessions incredibly close to actual match conditions,” Javed explained.
National all-rounder Salman Ali Agha also highly praised the new setup, highlighting its impact on contemporary cricket training. “This machine is equipping us to meet the challenges of modern cricket. Because the ball is delivered in perfect sync with an on-screen bowling action, you have to adjust your timing exactly as you would in a real match. This technology will play a vital role in refining our batting skills moving forward,” Agha stated.
