Peshawar Zalmi’s chances of qualifying for the PSL 10 playoffs have taken a hit after their loss to Karachi Kings. The match was crucial in the resumed season following a break caused by regional tensions. Despite a brilliant 94-run knock from captain Babar Azam, Zalmi fell short while chasing 238 and lost by 24 runs.
Karachi Kings posted a big total of 237/4, and Zalmi managed only 214/5 in reply. This defeat has made Zalmi’s next match against Lahore Qalandars a must-win. If Qalandars win, they’ll enter the top four. If Zalmi win, they’ll have to rely on Islamabad United’s result to determine their playoff spot.
