ICC Chairman Jay Shah is facing strong backlash after expressing public support for Indian soldiers during rising tensions with Pakistan.
Renowned Australian journalist Malcolm Coon slammed Shah’s “double standards,” pointing out that while the ICC banned Usman Khawaja for displaying a peace dove on his bat, Shah—who is also the son of India’s Home Minister—is openly backing military forces.

Coon called the act both shocking and hypocritical. Cricket fans also criticized Shah for promoting conflict, especially against another ICC member, Pakistan.
Many social media users have now demanded Shah’s removal from the ICC chairmanship, accusing him of bias and politicizing cricket.
