During the T20 World Cup 2026 match against the United States, Pakistan’s opener Sahibzada Farhan and fast bowler Shaheen Shah Afridi achieved significant milestones.
Before the match, Farhan had scored 969 runs in 40 innings. He completed 1,000 runs in T20 International cricket by hitting a six off Milind Kumar on the last ball of the fifth over.
With this achievement, he became the 10th Pakistani batter to reach 1,000 runs in Men’s T20 International cricket. He joins notable players such as Babar Azam, Mohammad Hafeez, Shoaib Malik, and Shahid Afridi on the list.
Shaheen Shah Afridi, who made his T20I debut against the West Indies in 2018, played his 100th T20 International match against the USA. He became the seventh Pakistani player to reach this landmark.
Previously, players including Babar Azam, Mohammad Hafeez, and Shoaib Malik had also achieved this feat. Babar Azam holds the record for playing the most T20 International matches for Pakistan, having appeared in 141 matches, more than Shoaib Malik, who is second on the list.
Before the match, the team congratulated Shaheen Afridi. In a photo, fellow fast bowler Naseem Shah was seen presenting him with a commemorative cap. The Pakistan Cricket Board captioned the image, stating that Shaheen Shah Afridi received the cap from teammate Naseem Shah after completing 100 T20 International matches.
In his first 99 completed T20 International matches, Shaheen took 129 wickets at an impressive average of 21.34, including two four-wicket hauls. He has also scored 307 runs in his T20I career.
