The wait for cricket fans is almost over, PSL 10 is starting tomorrow, and preparations are underway in full swing.
The 10th edition is starting with full enthusiasm from April 11, with 6 teams – defending champions Islamabad United, Karachi Kings, Lahore Qalandars, Quetta Gladiators, Peshawar Zalmi and Multan Sultans – having completed preparations to deliver their best performance in the event.
The national and foreign players in the teams are striving to demonstrate their importance by performing well. It is expected that a few new stars will also emerge during this time.
The exciting matches will begin with the opening match between defending champions Islamabad United and two-time champions Lahore Qalandars at Pindi Stadium on April 11.
A total of 34 matches, including the group round, will be held in four cities of Pakistan – Karachi, Lahore, Rawalpindi and Multan. 13 matches, including the eliminator and final, will be played at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore.
Pindi Stadium will host 11 matches, including the qualifiers. Five matches each are scheduled in Multan and Karachi. Karachi Kings will play all their first five matches at the National Stadium, Karachi.
There will be a qualifier in Pindi on May 13, the first eliminator in Lahore on May 14, and the second eliminator in Lahore on May 16, then the trophy winner will be decided in the final at Gaddafi Stadium on May 18.
The decision to introduce Urdu commentary for the first time in the league is welcome and will prove to be excellent entertainment for ordinary cricket fans. It is hoped that the successful holding of the PSL in a peaceful and dignified manner will help provide new strength and energy to cricket in Pakistan.
