Persistent inclement weather continued to disrupt the Men’s cricket competition at the Asian Games 2026, as relentless rain forced the abandonment of both scheduled quarter-final fixtures on Tuesday without a single ball bowled.

The day’s washouts affected Sri Lanka’s match against Nepal as well as Bangladesh’s encounter against Malaysia. In accordance with official tournament regulations, both Sri Lanka and Bangladesh secured direct berths in the semi-finals by virtue of their superior tournament rankings and seedings.

The disruption mirrored the previous day’s events, which saw the first two quarter-finals—featuring Pakistan against Hong Kong and India against Afghanistan—fall victim to heavy rainfall, sending Pakistan and India through under identical seeding rules.

With all four quarter-final matches completely washed out, the stage is now officially set for the tournament’s semi-finals on October 1. Pakistan will lock horns with Bangladesh in the first semi-final, while India will face Sri Lanka in the second clash to decide who advances to the gold medal match.
