England fast bowler Brydon Carse has been formally charged with breaching the England and Wales Cricket Board’s (ECB) professional code of conduct following a late-night incident at a Derby nightclub earlier this summer.
According to the Cricket Regulator, the charge under Directive 3.2 of the ECB Professional Conduct Regulations stems from an incident in the early hours of August 23, 2026. The 31-year-old pacer was handcuffed and detained by police on suspicion of being drunk and disorderly while out celebrating with Durham teammates, before being released after agreeing to leave the vicinity. While Derbyshire Constabulary subsequently investigated an alleged assault linked to the disturbance, authorities confirmed in September that no criminal action would be taken.
Following the conclusion of its inquiry, the Cricket Regulator referred the matter to the independent Cricket Discipline Commission (CDC) for a formal hearing, noting that no further comments will be issued while legal proceedings remain active.
