His record-breaking prowess was perhaps most famously displayed in 1958 against Pakistan, where he converted his maiden Test century into a monumental 365 not out. That innings stood as the highest individual score in Test history for 36 years before being surpassed by fellow West Indian legend Brian Lara.
Over his illustrious international career, Sobers represented the West Indies in 93 Tests, accumulating 8,032 runs at a staggering average of 57.78, including 26 centuries.
