Former Indian captain Virat Kohli has announced his retirement from Test cricket, bringing an end to a successful 14-year career. Kohli played 123 Test matches and scored 9,230 runs, including 30 centuries. He led India in 68 Tests from 2014 to 2022 and won 40 of them, making him India’s most successful Test captain.

In a post on Instagram, Kohli shared that Test cricket has taught him many lessons and shaped him as a player. He said it was a tough decision, but the right time to move on. Kohli thanked his teammates, fans, and the game itself for an unforgettable journey.
His retirement comes shortly after Rohit Sharma also stepped down from Tests, creating a gap in leadership ahead of the upcoming Test series against England. Kohli will still play One Day Internationals and continue his role in franchise cricket like the IPL.

Thank You Kohli.
