Former Indian captain and veteran batter Virat Kohli has achieved yet another monumental milestone, becoming only the second player in history to surpass 15,000 runs in One Day International (ODI) cricket, following in the footsteps of legendary cricketer Sachin Tendulkar.

The 37-year-old maestro reached the landmark during a spectacular, unbeaten 139-run knock against the West Indies in the first ODI held in Thiruvananthapuram on Sunday. Marking his 55th career ODI century, Kohli achieved the 15,000-run feat in just 303 innings. This record-breaking pace makes him the fastest to the milestone, shattering the previous benchmark set by Tendulkar, who took 377 innings to reach the same figure in a career that concluded with a record 18,426 ODI runs.

Powered by Kohli’s masterful innings and a brilliant century from current captain Shubman Gill, India comfortably chased down the 296-run target set by the West Indies, losing just two wickets to seal a dominant victory.
