Bangladesh Hands Pakistan Third Straight Defeat in Women’s T20 World Cup

Pakistan Women suffered their third consecutive defeat in the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2026 after losing to Bangladesh by 23 runs in a group-stage encounter.

Playing in Southampton, Pakistan failed to chase down a modest target of 124, finishing at 100/8 in 20 overs. Despite a promising opening stand of 49 runs, the middle-order collapsed and could not guide the team to victory.

Opener Muneeba Ali top-scored with 25 runs, while Gull Feroza added 23. Ayesha Zafar contributed 11, and skipper Fatima Sana chipped in with 10 runs, but the rest of the batting lineup struggled badly.

Bangladesh’s bowling attack was led by Sanjida Akter and Nahida Akter, who claimed three wickets each, while Rabeya Khan and Ritu Moni picked up one wicket apiece.

Earlier, Bangladesh chose to bat first after winning the toss and posted 123/6 in their 20 overs. Shorna Akter starred with an unbeaten 39 off 22 balls, while Nigar Sultana scored 36 and Sobhana Mostary added 22 runs.

For Pakistan, captain Fatima Sana impressed with the ball, taking 2 wickets for 18 runs, while Sadia Iqbal, Tasmia Rubab, Nashra Sandhu, and Tuba Hassan took one wicket each.

Pakistan had already suffered defeats against India and South Africa, making this their third loss in a row in the tournament.
