Indian left-handed opener Abhishek Sharma entered the record books in sensational fashion, blasting the fastest Twenty20 International century by an Indian batter during the third T20I against Afghanistan at the Arun Jaitley Stadium.

Asked to bat first, Sharma went on a relentless rampage from ball one, systematically taking the Afghan bowling attack apart. The destructive batter achieved his milestone century off an astonishing 30 deliveries, before eventually departing for a blistering 108 off just 34 balls. His breathtaking masterclass was highlighted by 11 colossal sixes and 9 boundaries.

With this explosive knock, Sharma surpassed the previous international marks set by Zimbabwe’s Sikandar Raza and New Zealand’s Finn Allen, both of whom had registered 33-ball centuries in T20I cricket, cementing his name at the pinnacle of power-hitting history.
