The reason behind Alex Hales leaving Islamabad United, the defending champions of PSL Season 10, during the important playoff stage has been revealed. According to media reports, the English opening batsman left the team before a key match to attend a close friend’s wedding. He has traveled from Pakistan to Spain for this personal event.
Hales was one of the earliest foreign players to arrive in Pakistan after the tournament was postponed due to India-Pakistan tensions. Reports recently shared that Hales was only going to play two matches in the playoffs instead of staying for the full tournament because of personal reasons.
It’s also worth mentioning that in the first qualifier against Quetta Gladiators, Alex Hales was out for zero runs in just two balls. After that loss, Islamabad United will now play against Lahore Qalandars in Eliminator 2, a do-or-die match to stay in the competition.
