Zimbabwe pulled off a spectacular performance at the Harare Sports Club, dismantling Bangladesh by a massive margin of an innings and 85 runs to seal a commanding Test victory.
The visitors were left scrambling in their second innings, ultimately collapsing for a mere 185 runs. Veteran batsman Mushfiqur Rahim offered the only notable resistance for Bangladesh, top-scoring with 34 runs before the batting order entirely fell apart.
The destruction was led by Zimbabwe’s lethal pace duo. Blessing Muzarabani tore through the Bangladeshi lineup, bagging brilliant figures of 4 wickets, while Richard Ngarava provided excellent support by claiming 3 crucial scalps to clean up the tail.
The foundation for this massive win was laid earlier in the match when the hosts piled up a mammoth 410 runs in their first innings. In response, Bangladesh completely capitulated, folding for just 140 runs and being forced to follow on.
The undisputed star of the match was Innocent Kaia, whose breathtaking knock of 140 runs set the tone for Zimbabwe’s absolute dominance. For his match-winning heroics with the bat, Kaia was rightfully named the Player of the Match.
