Due to rising tensions with Pakistan, India has reportedly decided to pull out of the upcoming Asia Cup tournaments.According to Indian media, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has decided not to participate in both the Men’s Asia Cup (scheduled for September) and the Women’s Emerging Asia Cup (set for June in Sri Lanka).
A BCCI official stated that since PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi, a Pakistani minister, is the current president of the Asian Cricket Council (ACC), India is unwilling to compete in a tournament led by Pakistan.
The BCCI claims to have verbally informed the ACC about skipping the Women’s Emerging Asia Cup and is also reconsidering its participation in other ACC events. They added that ongoing discussions with the Indian government are influencing the final decision.Although no formal notice has been given yet, reports suggest India is preparing to officially withdraw from the Asia Cup due to political tensions.

It’s worth noting that India is the defending champion of the Asia Cup, and this year’s edition was originally planned to be held in India.
