Indian Media Reacts Strongly to Army Chief Watching PSL Match

Indian media became highly agitated after Pakistan’s Army Chief, General Asim Munir, attended a Pakistan Super League (PSL) match. After facing a major setback in recent military conflict, Indian outlets started spreading propaganda to make the PSL seem controversial.

The match had already been delayed for a week due to rising tensions between Pakistan and India. When the Army Chief arrived at the stadium, he received a warm welcome from cricket fans, top PCB officials, and franchise owners — something the Indian media didn’t like.

As a result, they began to spread false claims, saying Pakistan was using cricket for political purposes. At the same time, Jay Shah, the ICC Chairman from India, made a public statement supporting the Indian army. Several former Indian cricketers also posted anti-Pakistan messages on social media.

Jay Shah’s remarks were strongly criticized by cricket fans online. People pointed out that the ICC had previously punished players like Usman Khawaja and Mohammad Rizwan for showing support for Gaza, yet were now silent on India’s military stance. It’s worth mentioning that after the Pahalgam incident, Pakistan responded strongly to Indian aggression, destroying military posts, including 3 Rafale jets, 2 fighter aircraft, and dozens of drones, leading to a major setback for India globally.
