IPL’s Robotic Dog Faces Legal Trouble Over Name

The Indian Premier League (IPL) introduced a robotic dog named “Champik” during matches, which sparked a legal case. A children’s magazine claimed the name is too similar to their title and sued the Indian Cricket Board (BCCI) for copyright violation. The Delhi High Court questioned the claim, asking if they’d also sue Virat Kohli, since a magazine character shares his nickname. The magazine’s lawyer replied that it would only be an issue if Kohli used the name commercially.
