Australia secured their seventh ICC Women’s T20 World Cup crown after defeating England in a commanding final.
Chasing a target of 151, Australia comfortably reached the total in just 17.2 overs, finishing the tournament unbeaten and adding another global trophy to their remarkable record.
Beth Mooney starred with a brilliant half century and was named Player of the Match for her match winning performance.
Earlier, Australia’s bowlers kept England under pressure from the very beginning. England captain Nat Sciver Brunt scored 58 runs from 53 deliveries, but the slow pace of the innings prevented England from posting a bigger total. They finished on 150 for 4 in their 20 overs.
After England slipped to 70 for 4, Nat Sciver Brunt and Freya Kemp put together an 80 run partnership for the fifth wicket. Freya Kemp contributed 44 runs to help England reach a competitive score.
