Pakistan domestic batter Mohammad Farooq has created cricket history by setting a new all-time record for the most sixes hit in a single first-class innings by a Pakistani batter.
Representing MIT Solutions against Khan Research Laboratories (KRL) in the ongoing President’s Trophy Grade-I at the Shoaib Akhtar Stadium in Rawalpindi, Farooq mounted a relentless assault, smashing a blistering 163 runs in the first innings of the second round. His breathtaking knock featured 11 boundaries and an unprecedented 14 towering sixes.
With this remarkable achievement, Farooq not only broke the domestic Pakistani first-class record—previously held by Gulfaraz Khan, who struck 12 sixes against Pakistan Universities in 1976-77—but also eclipsed the overall Pakistani first-class benchmark. That long-standing record had stood since 1967, when legendary batter Majid Khan launched 13 sixes for Glamorgan.
