The right hander became the 14th player from Pakistan to register a hundred in his debut Test appearance. He attained the milestone in 153 balls, striking 14 fours before being dismissed for 103.

Another debutant, Abdullah Fazal, also delivered a strong performance with a valuable fifty. He remained unbeaten after scoring 50 runs from 102 balls.

Pakistan resumed the day at 179 for 1, with Azaan Awais on 84 and Abdullah Fazal on 37. Azaan later completed his century before losing his wicket in the opening session.

The visitors then suffered a middle order collapse. Captain Shan Masood departed for 9 at 226, while Saud Shakeel was dismissed without scoring just one over later at 227. Abdullah Fazal’s innings ended at 60 when Pakistan reached 230, leaving the side five wickets down.

Earlier, Bangladesh posted 413 runs in their first innings thanks to centuries and important contributions from Najmul Hossain Shanto, Mominul Haque, and Mushfiqur Rahim.

Pakistan’s bowling attack was led by Mohammad Abbas with five wickets, while Shaheen Afridi grabbed three. Noman Ali and Hasan Ali chipped in with one wicket each.
