Shan Masood has said that Pakistan cricket needs long term improvement in Test cricket rather than constant changes.

After Pakistan’s series defeat against Bangladesh, the Test captain told reporters in Sylhet that he took over the leadership role with honest intentions to help strengthen the team. He said discussions with the cricket board would be necessary to address certain problems and improve performances.

Shan Masood explained that captaincy decisions are always made by the cricket board and emphasized that progress in cricket is not dependent on holding a position alone. He urged everyone to avoid emotional reactions after the defeat.

The Pakistan captain also said he would not single out batting, bowling, or fielding for the losses, adding that every run and every effort counts in cricket. According to him, the key in Test cricket is to recognize flaws and work on fixing them, no matter the player’s age or experience.

Bangladesh completed a historic 2-0 clean sweep over Pakistan, winning the first Test in Dhaka by 104 runs and the second Test in Sylhet by 78 runs.
